The manager of a community cinema, at the centre of a long-running dispute over its future, has assured residents it will reopen soon.

The Scala, in Prestatyn, closed in January after funding was cut by its owners Denbighshire council.

New leaseholders Aurora Leisure said it will "reopen as soon as possible".

Robert Arthur, who owns Aurora, said it will screen a range of films from kids' club to family movies and late night horrors.

A public meeting will be held before it open and it is hoped the Scala will become a community meeting place.
