A plan to close a Deeside high school will receive further scrutiny from Flintshire councillors.

Five councillors forced a special meeting, external on Monday, saying the decision to shut John Summers High School in Queensferry had caused local concerns.

They want assurances, external children's needs will be met during the 2017 closure, with transport to alternative schools provided.

Councillors voted to refer the decision back to the cabinet's next meeting.

The closure is part of a wider schools reorganisation in the county.
