Five wards remains closed to new admissions at Wrexham Maelor Hospital after a norovirus outbreak.

Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) said the number of patients with symptoms had dropped from 57 to 24, with a reduction in new cases.

Three further wards have restrictions and admissions have been stopped at one room in Deeside Community Hospital and a ward at Chirk Community Hospital.

The update came after the outbreak was announced on Monday.

BCUHB has said the virus is "circulating" in north east Wales.

It asked people to follow safety advice, urging them to stay at home, drink plenty of fluids and get advice from their GP if they develop symptoms.
