'Disappointing' response to fill Wrexham bus routes

Efforts to restore bus services following the collapse of a Wrexham-based coach company have resulted in a limited response.
Wrexham council has eight routes to fill after GHA Coaches went into administration in July.
Tenders for services on the routes went out last week and only a few commercial operators responded to the tender by the time it closed on Friday.
The council said it would examine other options for transport provision.
"We are disappointed in the number of returns received," said David Bithell, lead member for environment and transport.
He added that the loss of GHA Coaches had "significantly impacted on the availability of bus fleet in the region" and there were concerns alternative providers may not be able to meet the shortfall.
