A55 Conwy tunnel closed after camper van blaze

The fire happened between Conwy and Llandudno Junction

A section of the A55 had to be closed in both directions due to a camper van on fire, causing tailbacks.

North Wales fire service were called to the westbound side of the Conwy tunnel between junction 18 and 17, at 1010 BST to deal with the blaze.

The eastbound section was also closed for a short time due to smoke, but has now re-opened.

Crews are still at the scene damping down, but the fire is out and no casualties were reported.
