Three people had to be rescued when their speedboat sank off the coast at Abersoch, Gwynedd.
Two adults and teenager were picked up by the RNLI just after 17:00 BST on Saturday.
They called Holyhead coastguard on a mobile phone when their boat began taking on water.
The coastguard kept them on the line until two rescue crafts and the helicopter had located them, by which time they were in the water.
After being rescued by the RNLI, the trio did not need any further treatment.
