Two injured walkers airlifted off Carnedd Dafydd

Two walkers have been airlifted to hospital after they were seriously injured by falling rock in Snowdonia.

A 26-year-old man suffered head injuries, while a 43-year-old man had a broken arm and leg after it is thought he tumbled 150ft (45m).

The pair were on the 3,400ft (1,000m) peak Carnedd Dafydd and had been among a party of 10.

They were winched aboard an RAF rescue helicopter on Wednesday afternoon and flown to hospital in Bangor.

RAF Valley, Ogwen Valley and Llanberis mountain rescue teams were called out to the incident and for a time low cloud prevented the helicopter from Valley, Anglesey, reaching the injured men.
