A55: Penmaenbach tunnel to partially shut as £42m work carried out

Wales' second longest tunnel on one of the country's busiest commuter routes will be partially shut for up to a week for major road improvements.

One lane in Penmaenbach tunnel will be closed during day when £42m worth of work starts on the A55 next month.

Improvements are being made as a result of capital investment from the Welsh government.

Transport Minister Edwina Hart said January was the quietest time of the year to begin the work.

The westbound tunnel will be closed completely at night.
