Consultation on future of three Anglesey schools

A consultation on the future of three primary schools on Anglesey is to take place as the council looks to build a single area school replacement.

The shake-up will affect Ysgol Ffrwd Win in Llanfaethlu, Ysgol Cylch y Garn at Llanrhuddlad and Ysgol Llanfachraeth.

The favoured location is the current Ysgol Llanfachraeth site.

Anglesey council recently unveiled a £33m revamp of school buildings over the next five years.

Council leader Ieuan Williams, who is responsible for education, said: "We will be holding a meeting in each of the three schools as part of the consultation process.

"This will provide an opportunity for discussion, and for parents, teachers and governors to express their views on our proposals.

"There will, of course, also be an opportunity for interested parties to submit their views in writing as part of the process."
