Welsh actor Rhys Ifans will pay tribute to Dylan Thomas at this year's Festival No6 in Gwynedd to mark the centenary of the Swansea-born poet's birth.

The Italianate village of Portmeirion will host the festival from 5-7 September.

The arts and culture line-up, announced on Tuesday, also includes comedian Charlie Higson and musicians Julian Cope and Kevin Rowlands.

The festival's name was inspired by the 1960s cult TV series The Prisoner.

Festival organisers said the Dylan Thomas tribute would feature Ifans, director Kevin Allen and BBC 6 Music poet-in-residence Murray Lachlan Young, who are currently filming a big screen adaption of Thomas's Under Milk Wood.

The latest festival acts join a music line-up that already includes Beck, London Grammar, Martha and the Vandellas and Neneh Cherry.
