Thieves with a knowledge of bee keeping are suspected to have been behind raids on hives on Anglesey

Three queen bees and 30,000 bees were stolen from an Anglesey farm, North Wales Police have said.

They were taken from three hives on the outskirts of Cemaes Bay, some time between 30 July and 4 August.

With populations declining, Sgt Gareth Rees said bees are currently "of national interest".

Sgt Rees said the offenders had a knowledge of the practice and appealed to "the bee keeping community for information".
