A Gwynedd theatre that was forced to close earlier this month will reopen following "intense discussions" between landlords and officials.

The Theatr Ardudwy in Harlech was closed on 6 October after site managers said the building posed a "risk to the public".

It will start screening films again on Friday.

The theatre said the structure was "sound" and that any issues related to the facade.

"Following an intense period of discussions with WEA Cymru and Gwynedd officials, Theatr Ardudwy is happy to announce that films can restart on Friday," it said in a statement.

"To ensure public confidence and safety, the facade area has been sectioned off and access to the theatre will be through the main college entrance."

Screening capacity will be "restricted" in order to comply with health and safety regulations, it added.
