Half the cost of creating a £10m engineering centre on Anglesey to provide skills needed for the planned Wylfa Newydd nuclear power station could be met by the Welsh government.

Ministers promised to work with Grŵp Llandrillo Menai to develop a business case for the centre in Llangefni.

The new nuclear plant, near Cemaes, will need 8,500 construction workers and 1,000 station staff when built.

Deputy minister Julie James is visiting the Wylfa Newydd site on Thursday.
