Welsh Treasury team prepares for tax power

A Welsh Treasury team has been set up to prepare for the new tax-raising powers of the Welsh government.
From April 2018 Wales will take control of a land transaction tax to replace stamp duty and a landfill disposals tax.
A team of 35 people has been gathered to work on innovative finance, economic advice, tax policy and legislation.
Finance Minister Jane Hutt said the Scottish government was giving advice based on its own tax power experience.
A bill to set up a tax collection authority for Wales is due to be presented in July.
Powers to vary the rates of income tax in Wales have also been offered to the Welsh government subject to a referendum on the issue.
