Missing Kyle Vaughan: Police release man and woman

Two people arrested on suspicion of the murder of a 24-year-old man who has been missing for almost four weeks have been released without charge.

A 27-year-old woman and a man aged 28 were arrested on Tuesday by Gwent Police searching for Kyle Vaughan.

Mr Vaughan, of Blackwood, who has diabetes and needs regular insulin injections, was last seen alive on 30 December and is feared dead.

Eight people aged from 15 to 62 have now been released on police bail.

The murder inquiry has used police search teams, the police helicopter and dogs in the hunt for Mr Vaughan, who is described as 5ft 8in (1.72m), of slim build, and short dark hair and brown eyes.

It is believed he was wearing a dark-coloured beanie hat, a dark coloured t-shirt, three-quarter length denim shorts, white trainers and a gold chain.

The last reported sighting of the rock music fan, known to friends as Jabbers, was in the Abercarn and Risca areas of Caerphilly county late on 30 December.

Police say his silver Peugeot 306 was in a collision on the night he disappeared but it is not known if he was driving it. Later that night the car was found on the A467 between Risca and Crosskeys.

Inquiries continuing

A Gwent Police spokesman said: "The 27-year-old woman and 28-year-old man, both from the Cwmfelinfach area, arrested on suspicion of murder have been released on bail pending further inquiries.

"Detectives are continuing their inquiries into the disappearance of Kyle Vaughan."

A 24-year-old man from Blackwood and another man, aged 27, were arrested on suspicion of murder earlier in the inquiry.

Two other men, aged 21 and 15, were also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, while a 62-year-old Newbridge man and a 22-year-old Newbridge woman were arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.

All eight arrested people have been released on police bail.
