Missing Kyle Vaughan: Police question man and woman

Police are still questioning two people arrested on suspicion of the murder of a 24-year-old man who has been missing for more than three weeks.

Gwent Police looking for Kyle Vaughan say a 27-year-old woman and a man aged 28, both from the Cwmfelinfach area, were arrested on Tuesday.

Mr Vaughan, of Blackwood, who has diabetes and needs regular insulin injections, was last seen alive on 30 December and is feared dead.

Eight people have been arrested so far.

Their ages range from 15 to 62.

Search teams, the police helicopter and dogs have been used in the hunt for Mr Vaughan.

He is 5ft 8in (1.72m) tall, with a slim build, and short dark hair and brown eyes.

It is believed he was wearing a dark -coloured beanie hat, a dark coloured t-shirt, three-quarter length denim shorts, white trainers and a gold chain.

The last reported sighting of the rock music fan was in the Abercarn and Risca areas of Caerphilly county late on 30 December.

Police say his silver Peugeot 306 was in a collision on the night he disappeared but it is not known if he was driving it. Later that night the car was found on the A467 between Risca and Crosskeys.

Det Supt Peter Jones said: "We want to take this opportunity to appeal for anyone who was on the A467 that night, specifically between Risca and Crosskeys, to try to remember whether they saw anything unusual no matter how small.

"Kyle was dressed quite distinctively for the weather that night so would have been noticeable if he was out in the cold. We are committed to finding out what happened to Kyle that night, and since, and we won't stop until all avenues and lines of enquiry have been exhausted."

A 24-year-old man from Blackwood and another man, aged 27, were arrested on suspicion of murder earlier in the inquiry.

Two other men, aged 21 and 15, were also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, while a 62-year-old Newbridge man and a 22-year-old Newbridge woman were arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.

The first six arrested people have all been released on police bail.
