A woman found dead at her home in Monmouthshire was stabbed to death, an inquest opening has heard.

Stacey Henderson, 35, was found with stab wounds to her chest and heart alongside her husband Nigel at their Chepstow home on Friday.

Gwent Police said Mrs Henderson's death is being treated as suspicious.

Mr Henderson, 52, was also found with stab wounds to his torso and heart, but police have said his death is not suspicious.

The provisional cause of death for both was given as the stab wounds they suffered.

Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with their deaths.

Det Con Jon Lewis told the hearing both were pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

Assistant coroner Wendy James adjourned both inquests for three months pending further inquiries.

On Monday, Mr Henderson's family said in a statement, released by police, that he suffered from a "chronic illness" and his death was "untimely".

Mrs Henderson's family said in a separate statement: "Taken from this life too early, our wonderful and much-loved daughter.

"It is beyond belief and she will be forever in our hearts."
