The latest section of the A465 Heads of the Valleys road has been officially opened.

The stretch between Brynmawr and Tredegar, Blaenau Gwent, has been turned into a dual carriageway at a cost of £158m.

It is the third stage of an £800m scheme to alleviate poor visibility, congestion, lack of overtaking opportunities and accident hotspots.

The road was opened by Transport Minister Edwina Hart.

The project is part of a Welsh government scheme to turn the whole of the A465 from Abergavenny, Monmouthshire, to Neath, Neath Port Talbot, into dual a carriageway by 2020.
