Part of a ward at University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff has closed following an outbreak of the norovirus vomiting bug.

Cardiff and Vale University Health Board said it did not know how many people had been affected by the outbreak on Ward C6 North.

They have urged anyone with symptoms of diarrhoea and vomiting not to visit hospital.

A school in Cardiff also closed on Monday owing to the illness.

The hospital put out an appeal on social media for anyone with suspected norovirus to stay away.
