The closure sees the slip road closed during peak hours from Monday to Friday

A controversial peak time closure of a slip road to ease congestion on the M4 near Port Talbot is 'a benefit', a review into the trial has found.

But it added that traffic on local roads around the junction 41 westbound on-slip had increased.

Traffic Wales said that could be cut by drivers using the diversions in place.

The six-month trial started on 4 August with the slip road closed Monday to Friday from 07:00 to 09:00 and 16:00 to 18:00.

The part-time closures were agreed following a meeting between the Welsh government, Neath Port Talbot council, representatives from Port Talbot Chamber of Trade, the local community and Business Wales.

Both the local MP and AM have previously voiced concern about the impact of the closures on the town.
