Campaigners said the turbine will spoil the famous view from the Boathouse

A judicial review looking into the decision to build a wind turbine opposite Dylan Thomas' Boathouse in Laugharne has been granted.

Carmarthenshire Council are considering appealing the hearing.

The planning committee voted in favour of the development at Mwche farm six months ago.

Campaigners, including council officers, had protested that it would blight the view from the house.

South Wales West AM Suzy Davies says she is "delighted" the review has been granted.

Dylan Thomas's granddaughter, Hannah Ellis, called the initial decision to build a wind turbine at Mwche Farm "completely absurd".

But most members of the planning committee felt it would not be so big as to have an unacceptable impact on the area.

Judge Milwyn Jarman QC found that the objectors had a case and the full hearing will now be held early next year.
