Burst pipe submerges parts of Detroit in icy water
A water main in a southwest Detroit neighbourhood burst on Monday 17 February, filling the streets with icy water. Temperatures reached -17C (1.4F) when the flooding happened early in the morning. The water main was almost a century old though it is not clear what caused it to break. Crews were in the area working to clean the streets and repair the break.
