Humpback whale tangled in creel lines set free
A humpback whale which had become tangled in creel lines anchored to the seabed has been freed.
Experts from the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) were called out following reports of a mammal trapped in Loch Fyne, a sea loch off the Firth of Clyde.
Underwater cameras showed how the fishing equipment had wrapped around the whale's body, head and twisted through its mouth.
Rescuers carefully released the creel lines and the humpback swam off.
