On the streets of Tampa as Hurricane Milton nears Florida
Residents in Tampa, Florida are bracing for Hurricane Milton to make landfall late Wednesday or early Thursday morning.
The BBC’s Gordon Corera is in Tampa, where he says the city's entertainment district resembles a "ghost town".
Heavy downpours are being felt in the city hours before Milton is due to make landfall. Thousands of residents have fled, with mandatory evacuation warnings in many areas.
Hurricane Milton is set to be the largest storm the US has seen for a century.
