Seaweed underwear making a difference to women
Alexander Perry left his central London job to follow his passion of fashion.
Having studied biochemistry and biological chemistry, he started up a small company making sustainable clothing out of seaweed and eucalyptus in north London.
The scientific community is split on the effectiveness of seaweed on the body and its anti-inflammatory properties. Some research shows seaweed to be rich in vitamins and minerals, giving it characteristics that can help reduce inflammation and soothe itchiness. However, others suggest the effect is limited and that more research is needed.
After Alexander's mother was treated twice for breast cancer and also receiving positive reviews from women experiencing perimenopause, menopause and shingles, he ended up developing a line of clothing that focused on female health, while at the same time still giving the support of traditional underwear.
He now wants to try to develop products to help men dealing with medical issues.
