Watch: Hawk commutes underground to first major job

Millions of Londoners take the Tube for their daily commute, but few notice an unexpected traveller on the Underground, concealed in a locked black box.

Loki is a young Harris's hawk about to embark on his first major job in the capital.

He has been tasked with keeping pigeons at bay across some of the city's busiest stations and most iconic landmarks.

Handler, Jess Papworth from Citihawk, spent eight months building Loki's confidence to prepare him for his assignment - patrolling Westminster Cathedral.

She said she had been nervous for him, but "he flew really nicely.

"I'm really proud of him."
