Mountain rescuers' social media novice troubles
The problem of social media users getting into trouble at popular spots on apps like Instagram and TikTok is leading to a record year for rescue teams.
Mountain rescuers say demands are increasing as novice hillwalkers follow social media posts and then put themselves in danger.
"It’s very important to know what you’re doing, but it’s very difficult to tell people they cannot do something when other people clearly are allowed,” one climber told the BBC.
“It’s probably more education you need.”
