Wildlife explores snow-covered Wales

Wales' wildlife looked picturesque after the country's first cold snap of the winter covered many areas with snow.

Flamingos, meerkats and snow leopards at the Welsh Mountain Zoo in Colwyn Bay, Conwy, were seen exploring their frost-covered surroundings.

At the Idlewild Animal Sanctuary in Conwy, geese and goats explored the frosty landscape and birds gratefully ate some of the seed left out for them.

Snow started falling across parts of the UK on Monday night in what the Met Office called the country's "first taste of winter".
