Huge new cache of bodycam and 911 calls shows Uvalde shooting unfolding
The City of Uvalde has released body cam footage and 911 calls showing how one of the deadliest school shootings in the US unfolded.
The records were released after a settlement agreement was made between the city and news organisations, which was brought by the Associated Press, after they were repeatedly denied open records requests.
The massacre was one of the worst school shootings in US history. It has also been condemned as a massive failure of law enforcement after officers on the scene waited more than 70 minutes before confronting the gunman.
The shooting led federal lawmakers to pass the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, which implemented changes to the mental health system, school safety programs, and gun control laws.
