Power plant implodes clearing space for proposed waterfront park
The final structures of the Avon Lake power plant were imploded on December 19, making way for mixed-use redevelopment.
Developers plan to preserve historic elements like the turbine building and smokestack, while creating green areas and a waterfront park.
A 1,700ft (518m) exclusion zone was enforced during the demolition.
