'My disability left me scared to have kids'

A man who "lost everything" after being diagnosed with a neurological condition has revealed he was "scared to have kids".

James Sutliff, from Queniborough, Leicestershire, woke up one morning struggling to walk and talk.

The 40-year-old, who was forced to give up his job as a plumber, was eventually diagnosed with dystonia, a neurological movement disorder which causes muscle spasms and contractions.

Mr Sutliff, who now works as a disability fitness coach, said he felt "so lucky" after the recent arrival of his son, Cruz.

"I know this sounds so silly but I thought me having dystonia, I thought I wouldn't have any kids and I was scared to have any kids," he said.

"I lost everything, and now to gain everything again, I'm so lucky."
