Locals use TikTok to get donations for LA fire victims
A street vendor and volunteers have harnessed the power of social media to help those affected by wildfires in Los Angeles.
Jimmy Medina Jr said that a TikTok live broadcast prompted generous donations that allowed him to buy supplies, and to feed people from his hotdog cart.
"Through the power of TikTok, all of our TikTok viewers sent us donations... with their donations, we're able to buy all the ingredients," said Mr Medina Jr.
Clothes and other essentials are also being handed out at a donation centre set up in a car park in Santa Anita Park, Arcadia.
