Hull Fair was off to a busy start at the weekend, with large crowds reported on the first Saturday night.

Writing on Facebook, fair organisers said it was "potentially the busiest night on record", with car parks overflowing and traffic gridlocked around Anlaby Road and Spring Bank.

The fair was closed on Sunday as per tradition, with Hull City Council allowing nearby residents a day-long break from the fair, but it was back open again on Monday.

Those visiting later can also expect to see new rides open from 16:00 BST, with Hull Fair announcing the arrival of "large" and "extreme" rides from Nottingham's Goose Fair overnight.
