Why we married on Friday 13th

Many people consider Friday the 13th a day when bad things are supposed to happen - but for one couple, it was the perfect day to tie the knot.

Hannah and Mathew Parfit, from Pontypridd, Rhondda Cynon Taf, wed in a Victorian-era cemetery that is also a licensed wedding venue in 2023.

“I’ve always really liked them. I just find them quite peaceful,” Hannah said.

The number 13 and Friday both have a history of supposedly bringing bad luck – and it is the combination of the two that gives the day its reputation.
