Teen's new challenge after £28k charity marathon

A teenager who raised £28,000 for charity with The Hardest Geezer is preparing for an exciting new challenge.

Marcus, an avid Hull City fan known online as The Hull Boy, first met Russ Cook when he challenged himself to run a mile a day back in April.

Mr Cook, who ran the length of Africa, promised to do a marathon with the teenager if he “put the work in”.

“There was about 200 of us, around Hyde Park for the day. It was long, it hurt, but we got it done,” Marcus said.

Inspired by his mentor, the 16-year-old from Malton, North Yorkshire, is aiming to complete six marathons in six continents over six weeks in 2025, to raise more money for charity and spread awareness about mental health.
