Israeli crowds cheer at news of first hostages released in Gaza
Crowds of Israelis broke into cheers when the announcement was made that Hamas had released seven hostages into the custody of the Red Cross in Gaza.
The seven are the first of 20 living hostages to be released as part of a US-brokered ceasefire, after two years of the Israel-Gaza war.
Large numbers of people packed out Hostages Square in Tel Aviv overnight into Monday ahead of the scheduled event.
