A look back at Hoover factory as demolition due

It has dominated Merthyr Tydfil's southern gateway since 1948, but now the town's Hoover factory is set to be demolished.

The site will instead be used for 400 new-build homes.

At its peak, the "irreplaceable" factory employed 5,000 people and the community has reminisced fondly about a building which remains part of its heritage.
