Laser procedure treating bladder cancer patients
A hospital trust aims to cut the number of bladder cancer patients requiring surgery, thanks to a laser device.
Somerset NHS Foundation Trust is using the transurethral laser ablation (TULA) tool to destroy small bladder tumours.
The laser is inserted into the urethra, along with a small camera.
It is hoped TULA will allow the trust to treat the majority of bladder tumours without expensive and riskier surgery.
