Banned driver jailed after dangerous police chase
A disqualified driver sped through Oxfordshire villages while being chased by police before hitting the back of another car and ending up in a tree.
Adam Marmont, 27, from Witney, was spotted driving a Jeep Cherokee near Kidlington at about 13:20 BST on 4 April.
Officers used a tool deflate the car's front nearside tyre but Marmont continued to drive at high speeds - even travelling the wrong way round roundabouts as the tyre shredded.
He was arrested after clipping the back of another vehicle and swerving into a tree in Northmoor.
Marmont admitted dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and driving without insurance and was jailed for two years at Oxford Crown Court.
PC Liam Calvert, from Thames Valley Police, said: "We will not tolerate behaviour such as this on our roads, and will robustly pursue and prosecute those who feel it's acceptable to disregard the law."
