Barber devastated after second shop flooded

A barbershop owner said he was ready to "turn around and leave" when he saw his shop had flooded, which was the second time at two different premises.

Josh Downes, owner of the Lost Boys Club in Pontypridd, Rhondda Cynon Taf, said he had just got back on his feet after one shop was flooded by cooking oil after a drainage problem in 2022.

"I am one billion percent ready to just up and go, because we are not looked after by the council or anyone else who claims to be looking after people in Ponty," he said.

Council leader Andrew Morgan has said resources have been stretched but dozens of contractors have been called in.
