There is no place, the home secretary says, "for criminal disorder and thuggery".

Yvette Cooper was speaking after far-right protesters and anti-fascist demonstrators took to the streets around the UK.

In some cities, anti-immigration protesters threw bottles, smashed windows and scuffled with officers.
