The Scot in charge of an Australian lighthouse

A man from Scotland says he has landed his "dream job" in a lighthouse on a remote Australian island.

Sandy Duthie from Aberdeenshire is now the keeper on Gabo Island, off the Victoria coast.

He spends half the year on the windswept outpost with mainly only a colony of penguins for company.

There are more seals than people and whales like to make a splash nearby.

Documents suggest Sandy is the latest in a line of Scottish caretakers in the island's history.
