Special night celebrates 45 years of 2 Tone

This month marks 45 years of 2 Tone music.

BBC Radio WM hosted a special event with The Beat featuring Ranking Jnr and appearances from Pauline Black (The Selecter), Horace Panter (The Specials) and local band Lobster.

Thousands of people applied for tickets to attend the event on Thursday at the O2 Institute in Digbeth, Birmingham.

2 Tone famously emerged from the multicultural grassroots of Coventry and Birmingham in the late 70s and early 80s.
