How 'Soho George' became a fixture of the West End

George Skeggs has become a well-known fixture of Soho in central London, often seen walking around the West End in his dapper suits, turning heads not just with his appearance but with his fascinating stories.

He first visited Soho in the 1950s trying to meet his idol, singer Vince Taylor, and as soon as he got off the Tube at Tottenham Court Road, he says it was love at first sight.

More than 60 years later, he's still a regular at the local cafes and bars and has even been recognised as part of Soho's vibrant history, being included on a mural in the area, which also features the likes of the Rolling Stones.
