How do police forces catch misbehaving officers?

Police computers and phones are being screened by software designed to root out bad behaviour by officers.

It comes as women abused by former officers said misconduct has been ignored by police forces for decades.

One woman said she was "kicked and punched black and blue" by her ex-partner, who was a policeman at the time, and other officers who witnessed it did not take any action.

The software red flags thousands of words or emojis in messages, with one South Wales Police officer getting a criminal conviction last year.
