Cardiff's Central Square: 'Lovely' or 'stark and scary'?

An almost empty concrete square surrounded by high-rise buildings confronts visitors departing Cardiff Central station, a scene not fit for the Welsh capital according to some critics.

BBC Wales' Tink Llewellyn asked people in Central Square what they thought about the area, which has undergone a lot of redevelopment in the past decade.

One called it the Canary Wharf of Cardiff, referencing the glittering buildings in the business district in London.

But other weren't so sure, with one person calling it "stark".

"It hasn't got the character that Cardiff used to have," said Eva from Warwickshire, who grew up in Cardiff.
