Willoughby kidnap trial shown footage of arrest

A jury has been shown footage of the arrest of the security guard accused of plotting to abduct, rape and murder TV presenter Holly Willoughby.

Gavin Plumb, 37, is alleged to have masterminded a plot that involved taking Ms Willoughby, best known for presenting ITV's This Morning programme, by force from her home and keeping her in a "dungeon".

In footage shown at his trial at Chelmsford Crown Court, Mr Plumb asks officers to tell him who he is accused of kidnapping and then later admits the presenter "is a fantasy of mine".

The defendant, from Harlow, Essex, denies soliciting murder, inciting kidnap and inciting rape.

He has told the court he had engaged in "dark" chat online, but his fantasies were "never going" to become reality.

The trial continues.
