Karen Read, an American woman accused of killing her boyfriend in January 2022, has been found not guilty of second-degree murder.

She garnered massive internet attention and drew crowds to the Massachusetts courthouse where her second trial began in April.

Read had pleaded not guilty to the charges, with her lawyers arguing that she was being framed for her boyfriend's death. Her first trial collapsed in July 2024 after the jury could not reach a verdict.
