Chris McCausland proves 'nothing's impossible'

Strictly star Chris McCausland is proving "nothing's impossible" as he continues to inspire blind people to dance, a charity has said.

The comedian, who is the competition's first contestant with sight loss, has been described by Dorset Blind Association as a "great advocate" for people with visual impairments.

The charity is now teaming up with Pavilion Dance South West in Bournemouth to offer a variety of taster sessions to its members.

It follows McCausland's most recent dance, in which he performed part of the routine in the dark to imitate his experience with blindness.

Leah Cross, Dorset Blind Association's community support manager, said people the charity worked with had found his participation in the show inspirational.

She said: "I think with the support he's getting from Diane and all of the people in the programme, they're finding the right way - and that is the real key to anyone with a sight loss problem.

"You may not be able to do things in the same way as other people but just taking a step back and thinking about it and perhaps taking a different route - nothing's impossible."

The next episode of Strictly Come Dancing will be broadcast live from the iconic Blackpool Tower Ballroom on iPlayer and BBC One from 18:45 GMT.
