Margaret Landels: 'You're not allowed to dance with him'
Margaret was told off by the American Military police for dancing with a black American because he was the wrong rank and colour.
She went to many dances with the Americans as they bombed during the day so were free to dance in the evening while the RAF were on night raids.
Margaret volunteered for the WRNS in WW2 before she was called up and was in the Navy post office in Lowestoft.

The BBC is currently working on the project with a number of partners including the Normandy Memorial Trust and Royal British Legion.
Some of the stories collected may be shared with our partners and used on BBC News platforms.
